STEM Scholarship
Supporting Future Leaders in Manufacturing & Engineering
The West Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership (WCOMP) has established a scholarship program to provide opportunities to students studying manufacturing trades, engineering, maintenance, robotics, automation, and electronics. In 2026, up to 5 scholarships of $1,000 each are offered for full-time study at an accredited U.S. institution of the student’s choice.
The program is administered by WCOMP. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by WCOMP’s evaluation team.
Scholarship Details
- Application Deadline: March 31, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST
- Award Amount: Up to 5 scholarships of $1,000 each
- Eligibility: Open to high school seniors and current technical/community college students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Scholarships will be presented at the 5/20/26 WCOMP members meeting at Edison State Community College in Troy. Parents, family, and a guest are invited to attend the presentation event.
Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. Citizens.
- Current high school seniors with a cumulative 2.5 or above GPA, or current community college or career technical center students with a cumulative 2.5 or above GPA.
- Planning to enroll or already enrolled full-time at an accredited career technical center, trade specific school, or community college in the U.S.
- Be willing to consider a paid internship with WCOMP member companies, other circumstances notwithstanding (note: the internship is not required to receive a scholarship, and scholarship recipients are not guaranteed an internship).
Application Process
- A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
- Online recommendation must be completed on your behalf no later than March 31, 2026 5:00 pm EST.
NOTE: Taking the SAT or ACT is not required to be considered for this scholarship.
If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.

- A recommendation letter
All decisions by the WestCOMP Selection Committee are final.
Timeline

- Notification of Recipients: Mid-April 2026
- Scholarship Awards: Presented in May 2026; payments processed in July 2026
