Celina, Ohio – The West Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership (WestCOMP) will recognize and celebrate the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent at its upcoming STEM Scholarship Meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Wright State University – Lake Campus.
This annual event highlights WestCOMP’s continued investment in workforce development by awarding scholarships to students pursuing careers in manufacturing trades, engineering, robotics, automation, maintenance, and electronics. In 2026, up to five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled full-time at accredited U.S. institutions.
The scholarship program reflects WestCOMP’s broader mission to strengthen the regional workforce pipeline by connecting education with real-world career opportunities. Through initiatives like scholarships, youth outreach, and educator engagement, WestCOMP works to increase awareness of manufacturing careers and support long-term talent development across West Central Ohio.
“Investing in students today is essential to building a strong and sustainable manufacturing workforce for tomorrow,” said a WestCOMP representative. “These scholarships recognize academic achievement while supporting students committed to high-demand, high-skill careers critical to our region’s future.”
Scholarship Program Overview
Eligible applicants included:
- U.S. citizens
- High school seniors or current community college/career technical students with a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Students planning to enroll or currently enrolled full-time in manufacturing-related programs
Recipients were selected based on:
- Academic achievement
- Leadership and community involvement
- Work experience
- Career goals and aspirations
- Recommendation letters
While not required, recipients are encouraged to explore internship opportunities with WestCOMP member companies, strengthening connections between education and industry.
