A New Chapter for Manufacturing Collaboration in West Central Ohio

For years, the West Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership (WestCOMP) has been built around one simple belief:

Manufacturers are stronger when they work together.

Through collaboration between manufacturers, educators, workforce partners, economic development organizations, and community leaders, WestCOMP has helped strengthen manufacturing across West Central Ohio by connecting people, sharing resources, and developing the workforce our industry depends on.

As our region continues to evolve, so does the way manufacturers are supported.

Following a regional strategic planning process led by the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association (OMA), WestCOMP will transition its services to ensure every manufacturer is connected with the Industry Sector Partnership best equipped to serve their community.

While the WestCOMP organization will formally conclude operations in August 2026, the relationships, collaboration, and commitment to manufacturing excellence will continue.

What This Means for Manufacturers

Beginning in August 2026, manufacturers will transition to the organization serving their region.

Manufacturers in:

  • Auglaize County
  • Champaign County
  • Darke County
  • Mercer County
  • Miami County
  • Shelby County

will now be served by the Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA).

DRMA is an Ohio Manufacturers’ Association-endorsed Industry Sector Partnership with a strong history of supporting manufacturers through workforce development, industry collaboration, and regional engagement.

The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association will lead the next phase of planning alongside regional manufacturers and community partners to determine the best long-term structure for supporting workforce development and manufacturing collaboration within these communities.

Continuing the Mission

Although WestCOMP as an organization is coming to a close, the mission remains unchanged:

Building a stronger manufacturing workforce.

Creating meaningful industry partnerships.

Supporting manufacturers through collaboration.

Investing in the future of manufacturing across Ohio.

This transition is designed to strengthen those efforts by aligning manufacturers with organizations positioned to provide even greater regional support.
